Guys, Chrissy Teigen's new cookbook, Cravings, is so important. It holds so many culinary secrets; it's life changing. I tried the first of many recipes from her book today, Spicy Tomato Skillet Eggs with Prosciutto, and it was a mind-blowing combination. Whoever said "Don't trust a skinny chef," clearly never crossed paths with Teigen.
So, this particular meal included two recipes from her book. The basis for this dish is her Perfect Tomato Sauce recipe. The recipe calls for either canned or fresh, juicy tomatoes, I used both. To begin the sauce, you sauté the onions down and then add the garlic. Next you add all the fresh herbs and the tomatoes. I wish you guys could have smelt my kitchen. After you cook the sauce down for about 30 minutes, your skillet is ready for the eggs. You nestle the eggs into little wells that you create with a spoon in the saucepan. After the eggs have cooked for a few minutes, you add the prosciutto in little bunches. When the whites of the eggs are cooked and the yolks are still runny - it's ready to eat! Put some bread in the toaster and serve while it's still hot!
Note: I didn't make my skillet meal spicy because I was sharing with my sister and she's not a fan of spicy food - but red pepper flakes do the trick!
